"Ugh," I groaned as I reached for my bottle of Midol. "I hate this time of the month."
I always hated periods; I mean, what girl doesn't? Those stupid cramps and headaches would always leave me at my wit's end. And, like every other female on God's green earth, I was never myself during my cycle.
After taking a pill I crashed on the couch, trying to get some shut-eye. It only lasted a few moments, however, until Feliciano barged through my front door, using a spare key.
"Ciao, sorella!" he said to me with that sweet smile of his.
I opened my eyes. "Hi, Feli," I groaned, irritated. "You come here alone? 'Cause I know I didn't give you a spare key."
"Nope. Ludwig came here with me. Actually, he drove us here." He opened the door once more to let Ludwig--to whom I did give a spare key--inside.
Ludwig kneeled down beside me and felt my forehead. "Are you alright, schatz? You feel a bit warm."
I loved the feel of his hand on my face; unfortunately, my severe headache and cramps prevented me from enjoying it properly. "I'm okay. I just feel like crap is all," I replied with a small grin.
Ludwig had a slightly confused look on his face for a moment, but then nodded in understanding. He stood up and said, "You should get some rest." Without warning, he picked me up bridal-style and led me to my room. "In your bett, not on that old couch."
I raised an eyebrow. "It's not that old."
Feli came up to us, hopping from foot to foot. "Hey, sorella. Where's your bathroom? I have to go."
"Right over there," I said and pointed him in the right direction as I nuzzled my head into Ludwig's chest.
"Okay. Grazie, sorella!" he replied, quickly making his way to the bathroom before he wet his pants.
Ludwig placed me gently in my bed and pulled the covers up for mewhich prior were simply left in a wrinkly wad on the corner of the bed. I never made up my bed, and it always ticked him off.
"Sweet dreams, mein liebe," he whispered, kissing my forehead. He walked out, closing the door behind him.
Surprisingly, it only took me a few minutes to fall asleep.
_____ had been in bed for about an hour, and Feliciano had remained in her restroom the whole time. I wondered what was taking him so long, so I decided to check up on him.
I knocked on the closed door, saying, "Feliciano, are you alright? You've been in there for a while now."
"Hm?" I heard rustling inside until Feliciano opened the door and slipped outside. "Oh hi, Ludwig! I'm sorry that I made you worry. But I found some stickers and I've been playing with them. I guess I got a little carried away."
I looked at him, confused. "Stickers? In the restroom?"
"Yeah! They're shaped like airplanes, and they're kind of big stickers, but they're really cute!" he replied with a smile on his face.
Still uncertain of what he was talking about, I leaned to the side and peeked into the restroom. Covering the mirror, bathtub, and walls were "airplane stickers", which, in reality, were _____'s sanitary napkins.
My face exploded in surprise. "WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING WITH THOSE?! ARE YOU INSANE?! THOSE ARE NOT STICKERS, AND YOU CERTAINLY SHOULDN'T BE PLAYING WITH THEM!"
Tears started to well up in Feliciano's eyes. "What?! What are you talking about? Are they important? What did I do?!"
"Okay, what's going on here?" said a slurred voice behind us.
Feliciano looked over my shoulder and smiled. "Oh hi, sorella! Did you have a nice nap?"
"Yeah," _____ replied, trying to talk correctly. "Ludwig's yelling just woke me up. What's going on?"
I felt my face heat up. "Nothing. Feliciano has just been going where he shouldn't."
"What do you mean?" She looked into the bathroom and saw all the sanitary napkins Feliciano stuck to the walls. Her eyes went wide, and her brows raised high on her forehead.
I decided to break the silence. "I tried telling him that they weren't his und he shouldn't be playing with them, und--"
I stopped myself when I heard and unusual sound coming from _____. It sounded a bit like a giggle. She covered her mouth with her hand, but removed it when her giggling developed into a deep laugh. She laughed hysterically for a few minutes, falling to the floor and holding her stomach in the meantime. It was so odd. She was always so calm and collected. Seeing her laugh hard enough so that she couldn't even stand up was the last thing I had expected her to do.
"_____?" I said quietly.
Feliciano tilted his head. "Sorella? What's so funny?"
_____'s laughing soon subsided, and she began to calm down. "Nothing, Feli. It's just. . . you're so cute!" She looked at him with a wide smile on her face.
I helped her off the floor, inadvertently pulling her into my arms. Both of our faces heated up, but we enjoyed the short embrace.
She looked with a smile. "I feel much better now!"
