". . . Ready or not, here I come!"
At one of Alfred's parties, we all decided to play hide and seek, Alfred, of course, being "it". I ran into one of the back rooms, spotting an unlocked footlocker. After stepping inside it and making myself comfortable, I closed the lid, being careful not to lock it.
Several minutes passed, and I wasn't found by anyone else. A few moments later, I heard someone frantically stagger into the room, closing the door behind them. There was a short pause before the lid to the footlocker opened, leaving me exposed. I wasn't caught, though, because the person standing before me was my cute little red-headed Italian friend, Feliciano Vargas.
"Oh, _____," he stammered. "I didn't know you were in here"
"Yo, Feli~! Where'd you go~?" called Alfred teasingly.
"Eep!" Feli squeaked, jumping into the footlocker with me. The lid closed with a loud slam, pushing Feli down on top of me.
"Feli!" I whispered loudly. "Get out of here! This is my hiding spot!"
"Eh?! B-But Alfred will find me!"
"I don't care!" I pushed Feli back, attempting to open the footlocker in the process. I only succeeded in squashing poor Feli against the lid, knocking all the air out of him. After quite a few attempts, I pulled my hands away from him. "Uh-oh," I muttered.
"What?" said Feli, sucking air back into his lungs.
"I think we're stuck in here."
His face went blank, then he smiled. "That's okay. One of the other guys will find us."
I raised an eyebrow, knowing that no one would suspect someone of hiding in a LOCKED footlocker. "And if they don't?"
Feli blinked, his face going blank again.
"We may be stuck in here. . ." I waited for him to get it. He didn't. "And we may never get out. . ."
After a moment, I guess it finally sank in, because he started to panic. "Oh, no! I won't get any of the pasta out there! And I don't wanna die!" He began hyperventilating, tears welling up in his eyes.
I grabbed his shoulders to steady him. "Feli, stop hyperventilating! You'll use up all the oxygen in here!"
Slowly, he forced himself to calm down. "Okay. . ." He sniffled. "_____?"
"What if we never get out of here?"
I paused at his question. The idea of slowly starving and suffocating in a footlocker was really starting to get to me. I sighed, trying to remain calm. "I don't know. . ."
Feli looked away sadly, pressing his body down closer to mine and nuzzling my neck. "I'm scared, bella. I don't want to die."
My face flushed as his lips brushed against my neck and jaw line. I ran my fingers through his auburn hair. "Me, too."
My words were cut off by Feli's soft lips on mine. "Ti amo, bella," he whispered against my lips, sending chills down my spine.
I smiled, giving him a soft kiss. "I love you, too, Feli."
He smiled warmly, wrapped his arms around me, and pulled me closer into him.
Suddenly, a loud rattle came from outside the footlocker. I assumed Alfred had opened the door when I heard him say, "Man, where are those two?! I don't even care anymore, they won!"
I banged my fists on the walls of footlocker. "Alfred! We're stuck in the footlocker! Open this stupid thing before we suffocate!"
"_____?!" There were footsteps toward the footlocker before the lid was opened. "Are you okay"
Alfred's eyes instantly fell on Feli's body lying over mine with our lips so close together. His brows went up, and his lips curled into a smirk. "Oh, hey, you two~. Wassup~?"
My face turned bright red, and I pushed Feli off of me. I climbed out of the footlocker and smacked Alfred on the back of the head. "It was nothing like that, boy!"
I walked out of the room, Feliciano quickly catching up with me. "_____! Wait!"
I turned around to face him, smiling. "Yeah, Feli?"
"Uh. . ." He started nervously fiddling with his thumbs. "Well. . .I was thinking, um. . . Would you like to. . .go somewhere tomorrow night. . . ?"
I giggled, kissing his cheek. "Sure."
