"Alfred! Where are we going?!" I said as Alfred pushed me along through his gigantic house.
He snickered. "You'll see~!"
I rolled my eyes.
We arrived at a door, which Alfred opened and shoved me into the room, closing and locking the door. It turns out the room wasn't a room-- it was a closet. It was a small, empty closet, barely able to fit two people.
Wait. Two people. . .
I banged my fist on the door. "Alfred Foster Jones! Get me out of this closet, or so help you, I will--"
Before I could say any more, the door opened and Arthur was pushed in. The door closed, pushing Arthur closer to me. I could see his emerald green eyes staring at me through the darkness. My face heated up, and I felt his heat up as well.
"Ah. . . Arthur. . ."
"Oh, _____," he muttered. "H-Hello, love. . ."
"Um. . . Did Alfred drag you in here, too?"
He nodded. "Yes. He didn't even bother explaining to me why."
"Ah. . ."
He didn't know, but I did. Alfred knew about my crush on Arthur; he probably thought this was a good way for us to get together.
"Do you know why he put us in here?" he asked.
The blush on my face grew, and my legs turned to jello. "Well, um. . . Alfred thought that I liked you. . . and I guess he thought this would make me tell you about it. . ."
There was a pause, then Arthur scoffed slightly. "Now where would he get that idea?" He chuckled a little.
I snickered nervously. "I-I know, right? Crazy guy. . ."
The door opened, showing Alfred's cheery face. "Hey, guys~! How's it goin' so far~?"
Arthur and I both pushed Alfred out of the way and scrambled out of the closet before he could close the door again.
After quickly escaping Alfred, Arthur glanced at his watch. "Oh, I should probably go. It's getting late."
I nodded. "Yeah. Me, too."
He smirked a bit. "Next time I see Alfred, I'm going to strangle him for locking us in the closet." He shook his head. "He needs to stop being so bloody oblivious about these types of things. We're not going to get together."
It took all my will-power to keep a smile plastered on my face. For those who don't know, it's hard to smile when your heart is breaking.
"Well," said Arthur as he opened the front door, "I'll see you later, _____."
"Yeah. See you. . ."
He opened the door and walked out into the autumn air, leaving me standing by the doorway. Hot tears fell from my eyes.
"But I don't know how I'll be able to stand seeing you if I can't see you like that. . ."
After a moment, something inside me snapped. I opened the door and bolted outside. Arthur had already driven away, so I climbed into my car and went after him. I knew where he lived, after all. I drove over the speed limit, but still was careful not to be too reckless.
About four or five miles down the road, I spotted Arthur's car driving safely. I sped ahead and swerved in front of him, slamming on the brakes. Arthur stopped immediately before he could crash into my car.
He climbed out of his car and stomped angrily to mine. I stepped out, causing Arthur to look at me in disbelief.
"_____?! What are you doing?!"
"I know why Alfred locked us in the closet!" I stumbled around the car over to him.
Arthur blinked. "What?! You drove like a maniac and almost T-boned me for that--"
"It's because I love you!"
There was a pregnant pause--about nine months pregnant. Arthur only stared at me with his beautiful green eyes widened and his adorably bushy eyebrows raised high on his forehead.
Tears threatened to fall from my eyes again. "Alfred was right when he thought that I like you. It was his idea to lock us in the closet together, but that doesn't change the fact that I love you. I love you, Arthur! And I have ever since I first met yo--"
Arthur cupped my face in his hands and pressed his lips to mine passionately. The tears spilled over and rolled down my cheeks. Arthur pulled away and wiped them away before wrapping his arms around me.
"I'm sorry," he whispered into my ear. "I'm sorry if I hurt you. I didn't want to say before because. . . I was afraid you wouldn't feel the same way. . ."
"I love you, Arthur."
Arthur smiled warmly. "I love you, too."
